A cadre member of The People’s Action Party ( PAP ), with 40 years’ experience in grassroots works. He was previously the Branch Secretary ( PAP Telok Ayer Branch ) for the former Minister for Home Affair, Mr. Ong Pang Boon and MP for PAP Telok Ayer Branch; and was also the appointed Assistant Branch Secretary/Organising Secretary for the former Minister for Finance and MP for Kreta Ayer-Tanglin GRC, Dr. Richard Hu Tsu Tau, at PAP Kreta Ayer Branch.
Served CCC as Assistant Secretary/Committee member & CCMC Treasurer/Committee member/YEC Chairman/RC Committee member since 1983-.
He has previously served the late First Prime Minister, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew in Tanjong Pagar GRC in the grassroot organisations. He currently served Ms. Indranee Rajah, Minister, Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Finance and Second Minister for Education cum MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC.
